Willamette River Rowing Center
Dexter Lake, OR
Design Studio, 2015
The Willamette River Rowing Center consists of a subterranean rowing shell garage with doors opening to the lakefront; conditioned workout, clubhouse, and office buildings on stilts oriented north-south; and a large open-air intermediate zone that forms a viewing park. Partially covered by the elevated structures, partly open to the sky, this viewing park is sloped and oriented parallel with the racing lanes in the lake and constitutes the fundamental geometric conversation between the various building elements.
